Title: Pathway to Healing: Sharing Indigenous Perspectives on Family Medicine Training in the University of Alberta's FM Residency Program

 Objectives: 

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the historical and current relationship between Indigenous Peoples and the Family Medicine Residency Program and Department of Family Medicine.
  • Learn about the Indigenous Working Group and its Summary Report of recommendations.
  • Identify actionable steps that individuals and the Department can take to foster positive and respectful engagement with Indigenous Peoples.

About Family Medicine Grand Rounds

Family Medicine Grand Rounds is a forum to share and discuss scholarly and practical work pertaining to family medicine and of interest to individuals working within a family medicine environment. The primary purpose of these Grand Rounds is to bring together family medicine professionals to hear and discuss thought-provoking presentations on topics of importance to family medicine and to primary health care broadly. Family Medicine Grand Rounds are held approximately four times annually.

Rounds are open to family medicine faculty, residents, preceptors, medical students, researchers, community physicians, medical students, residents from other medical specialty areas and allied health professionals working with family physicians.
