Dr. Famulski received his PhD and DSc from the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology at the Polish Academy of Sciences. He served as a Visiting Scientist at the Federal School of Technology, Zurich, Switzerland, and later as Head of the Proteomics Research Unit at the KFSH&RC, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Before his current position in the Department of Nephrology at the University of Alberta, Dr. Famulski worked as a Research Associate for the Cross Cancer Institute (Edmonton, Alberta). Currently, his work in the Halloran laboratory focuses on global gene expression and signal transduction. He is particularly interested in the mechanisms of tissue repair and the role of macrophages in injured organs.
