The University Health Centre offers a range of health care services to meet the needs of all eligible members of the university community, including full-time and part-time undergraduate and graduate students, plus academic and non-academic staff, ensuring support for both individuals and their immediate families.

Emergency Contraception + Abortion Access

There are a few emergency contraception options available. For additional details, speak with your physician or a health professional so that you can get the medical help you need.

Gender-Affirming Healthcare

The UHC has physicians who can prescribe HRT, as well as offering other supports for the gender diverse members of our campus community.

Health Faculty Immunizations

Health programs include clinical placements as an essential component of the program. In order to protect yourself and the patients you will be interacting with during your placement, you are required to have your immunization records reviewed and updated by a health care professional.

Mental Health Support

The University Health Centre is here to support your mental health, whatever that means to you. Meeting with a physician to discuss your mental health can be a great first step.

Nutrition Consultations

Nutrition consultations are provided by a registered dietitian and are tailored to fit your unique nutrition needs. Common topics of a nutrition consultation include: eating on a budget, meal planning, nutrition in the prevention and management of specific health concerns/conditions, weight management, and more.

  • By appointment only between 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. on Fridays.
  • Consultations are free for students.

Obstetrics + Gynecology

Our specialist, Dr. Tankel, provides medical care related to pregnancy and treatment to patients focusing on issues related to internal reproductive organs.

Occupational Therapy

The occupational therapist works with students who face barriers to meaningful participation in their daily lives. Sessions focus on identifying what is important to each individual and then creating a personalized plan to help them achieve their goals. Speak with a UHC physician or other Dean of Students Wellness team members about a referral to OT services.

Podiatry (Foot + Ankle Treatment)

Specialist Dr. Ravji provides podiatric and orthopedic services, treating foot, ankle, and related ailments.

PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) Medication

PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is a medication taken daily by individuals who are HIV-negative, in addition to safer sex practices, as a precaution with the intention of preventing HIV infection.

Sexual Health Services

Sexual health and sexuality are crucial parts of overall health and wellness. Maintaining good sexual health practices can include consistent and correct contraceptive use, STI testing, HPV vaccinations, and more.

Travel Consultation + Immunizations

We offer travel consultations and immunizations for individuals seeking to prevent illness when far from home.

Immunizations and follow-up visits take time, so be sure to complete your consultation well in advance of your trip.

Wart Treatment

Warts are incredibly common and can be found on any part of your body. They can be annoying and painful, and most commonly grow on your hands and feet. The doctors at the UHC can treat your warts easily with liquid nitrogen.


Patient Confidentiality

The University Health Centre works with the Health Information Act and University privacy guidelines to ensure that all services are confidential. UHC utilizes an electronic medical records system (EMR) to ensure that all medical records are confidential.
Medical records are not released without explicit written consent from the UHC patient unless required by law or as a matter of public health.
