Is the Faculty Club limited to faculty members? Is membership automatic? How does it work? Dr. Isaac Isaac, Faculty Club President, let us know:
We are privileged at the University of Alberta to have the last member-owned Faculty Club in Canada.
For over 50 years, the U of A Faculty Club has provided a warm and collegial private club atmosphere to its members. Whether hosting guests, having lunch in the Lounge, or meeting family and friends in the Lower Bar, the Faculty Club is a great venue. We encourage you, our university community (both faculty and staff), to use the facilities as often as you can.
The Faculty Club’s reputation is built on a great atmosphere, wonderful service and reasonable pricing. We are open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. dinner from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and the Bar Lounge is open from 11:30 a.m. to 1 a.m., Monday through Saturday. On Saturday mornings, we offer a buffet brunch. Children under 10 eat for free at any of our buffets.
All Members receive a monthly statement for food and beverage charges, along with a Calendar of Events which showcases events taking place at the Club in that month, including wine tastings, musical performances, family brunches and barbeques, holiday buffets and dinners. There are no gratuity charges at the Faculty Club.
This is your personal invitation to apply for Faculty Club Membership at a special introductory price of $15 per month for the first year. Thereafter the membership fee is still only $30 per month. University of Alberta Faculty are welcome to join as members and, university staff, alumni and friends of the university can join as associate members.
Application forms are available online.
We look forward to seeing you soon at the U of A Faculty Club.
