As evidenced by initiatives such as the draft Healthy University Strategic Plan, For the Public GoodFor the Public Good, and the United Way campaign, the U of A is a place that strives to foster a healthy and caring environment, and you — yes, you! — can contribute to the creation of this healthy and caring environment through one simple action: wiggling. Here’s how:
To Start, Drive a Plasma Car
First things first, this is a plasma car:

To operate said vehicle, you’ll need to do the following:
Get Low

Just Wiggle (it’s pretty easy…. and it’s the bit that includes exercise)

Next, Race

But where does the caring bit come into play? Why, at the annual United Way Plasma Car Races. Held on Friday, October 28 of this year, everyone is welcome to attend this highly competitive and in every way serious event. The efforts of each participant (all of whom have the option of wearing their best racing gear — helmets and such) will lead to the collection of donations for the U of A’s United Way campaign.
This year’s fundraising goal will see drivers (as individuals or members of driving teams) each raise a minimum of $100 in total pledges. All funds collected will go directly to the United Way, where they shall be used to fund the local programs that work to improve the quality of life for the broader community’s most vulnerable members.
So whether you would like to race, offer your financial support, or simply observe the proceedings as a race patron, please be informed of the race day details:
