Interpretive dance on quantum dots is not the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about “research.” But, it might be after you visit this year’s Festival of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (FURCA)!
While there is plenty to take in this week, we’ve pulled together a few of the research topics that we think might be worth checking out during your coffee or lunch break stroll on Thursday (March 16):
Can an electric plane fix the global economy, climate-change, AND the aviation industry?

How much damage can a single particle of dust really do?

Are Canadian universities really equipped to deal with mental health issues?

What secrets are elite squash players keeping?

How can we make Syrian refugee families feel at home?

Do art and Dutch ‘dementia villages’ go together?

Through 130 presentations, this year’s FURCA will showcase research from 12 faculties. The event is open to everyone and anyone and, with a lineup of creative performances, visual art exhibits, oral presentations, and poster symposium, there is sure to be a little something for everyone.
For complete FURCA details, visit the URI website.
