Sarah Wolgemuth has been appointed the new associate vice-president, Student Experience in the Office of the Dean of Students, effective January 1, 2025. Sarah will be moving into the AVP role and continuing as project director for the Student Experience Action Plan (SEAP).
Since December 2022 Sarah has been seconded from her role as assistant dean, Student Life to the deputy provost, Students and Enrolment Office to lead the co-creation of the SEAP. With her strategic and highly relational leadership style, Sarah plays a key role in ensuring our university's roadmap to enhance student experiences is successful.
With a distinguished career in student service, Sarah has held several key positions at the university, including assistant dean of Residences, and director of Student Services and Admissions in the Faculty of Law. Sarah holds a bachelor of kinesiology (honours) from Brock University and a master of education in educational administration and leadership from the University of Alberta. Passionate about enhancing student success, she is driven by a deep commitment to fostering positive, meaningful student experiences.
As part of the dyad model within the DoS, Sarah will work closely with Ravina Sanghera, vice-provost and dean of students, to deliver on the university's ambitious goals for student experience, support and engagement. Sarah will lead strategic initiatives to facilitate the engagement of all students, grow our institutional understanding of diverse student experiences, and implement the SEAP. Sarah's portfolio includes the Career Centre, First Peoples’ House, Orientation and Transition Services, the Undergraduate Research Initiative and DoS operations.
We look forward to having Sarah continue to help us advance the important work we are doing in support of students at the U of A.
