What is your first U of A memory?
My first U of A memory is walking to HUB Mall to get my OneCard, grabbing a coffee and soaking in the campus vibe. HUB felt like an indoor city street — bright, busy, a little chaotic. That same week, visiting the Art Gallery with students and colleagues made me feel instantly at home. It was surreal and strangely comforting, as if the campus itself was saying, “Welcome to the adventure.”
What’s something your coworkers don’t know about you?
I’m a big fan of window shopping — both in real life and online! When I can’t sleep, you’ll usually find me browsing through online stores, building imaginary shopping carts. Fun fact: I used to genuinely love studying. Exam season was my thing!
What’s your favourite distraction?
Whether it’s getting lost in a historical Chinese drama, a good book, music, a spontaneous road trip or just learning something new for fun, I love distractions that feed my curiosity and creativity.
If you were enrolling in one course, program, or degree right now, what would it be?
I would either study counselling because I’m passionate about supporting others, or explore design or media to deepen my passion for creative storytelling and communication.
If you could invite anyone — alive or dead, real or fictional — to dinner, who would it be?
I would invite my mom. It’s been three years since I've visited her, and sharing a meal together would mean everything to me.
If you could see any live performance tomorrow, what would it be?
Definitely Billie Eilish! Her music is powerful, and I’d love to experience her energy live.
What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?
Don’t stress so much about having it all figured out. Life isn’t a checklist, it’s more like a weird, wonderful scavenger hunt. Oh, and drink more water.
What’s one thing you can’t live without?
Family. They’re my anchor, my source of strength, and the reason I know how to make a proper group chat meme.
What three words describe your U of A experience?
Growth, opportunities, collaboration.
Do you have any upcoming projects or initiatives you are looking forward to at work?
I am excited about several upcoming initiatives. In June, we’re celebrating our international students with graduation events — it’s always a highlight to see their journeys come full circle. We're also promoting Trips, an incredible opportunity for students to explore and connect.
As we gear up for Fall, there’s a lot in motion: our pre-departure sessions are already underway, and we’re getting ready for Welcome Services and an in-person Orientation in August. I can’t wait to welcome new international students to campus and help set the stage for their U of A experience!
