From May 13 to June 7, more than 150 faculty and staff represented the U of A at the 2026 Edmonton Corporate Challenge, helping the university earn a bronze-place finish in the large organization division. The challenge features three divisions made up of companies, non-profits, post-secondary institutions, school boards and government organizations from across Edmonton. The U of A went head-to-head with 35 other teams, including MacEwan University, NAIT, ATB Financial and the Government of Alberta.
In addition to placing third in its division, the U of A came in first in Mario Kart, second in both near-beer pong and volleyball, and also won the talent show.
Rising to the Blood Donor Challenge
The U of A rolled up its collective sleeves to contribute 328 units of blood, rivaling the City of Edmonton and Health Shared Services for the strongest turnout. The university’s commitment to Canadian Blood Services doesn’t stop with the Edmonton Corporate Challenge, however; donations are welcome any time through the Partners for Life program.
