Welcome YouAlberta’s “Have You Met” series in collaboration with @ualbertastudents! Every other week we’ll get to know a student from the University of Alberta!

Have you met Bronte, Education After-Degree student and outdoor activities enthusiast? Spend the next few minutes getting to know her a bit better!
What three words best describe your U of A experience?
Enriching, challenging, and rewarding
Why did you decide to pursue an after-degree?
I wanted a degree that complimented my previous degree and would enhance my opportunities to have a good work/life balance and the ability to continue my education further should I decide to.
What advice would you give to your first year self?
It is important to reach out when you feel overwhelmed and to make connections with other students in class. Do not be afraid to ask for clarification on assignments or to have a friendly debate in class with a professor.
You can invite anyone — alive or dead, real or fictional — to dinner. Who would it be?
Jane Goodall.
What is your favourite way to unwind after a long day?
Have a hot shower, and read a book.
What do you miss most about campus/in-person classes?
I miss interacting with students and organically making connections with them and I also enjoyed watching professors light up when they teach about what they’re passionate about.
What are you most proud of?
My tenacity to learn, I could be a student forever but I’m happy I found a direction that calls to me and will consistently allow me to learn.
What’s one thing you can’t live without?
Coffeeandcarbs.
What is your go-to study snack?
Cut up fruit or popcorn with coconut oil and truffle salt.
Who inspires you?
My three-year-old daughter, she motivates me to be the best version of myself.
