Terrence (they/them), an Edmontonian who is studying computer science and English at the U of A, is a multi-disciplinary creative. They express their creativity through poetry, software development, embroidery and linocut. Terrence actively practices queer joy in politically tangible ways and celebrates the uniqueness and beauty of queerness and transness. You can find Terrence enjoying North Campus green spaces and connecting with campus wildlife, like magpies, rabbits and squirrels, between classes or unwinding and taking their dog to the dog park.
Ashley (she/her), born and raised in Sherwood Park, is an ambitious student passionate about adventure. She has practiced highland dancing — a Scottish tradition — for over 20 years! Ashley has even had the unique experience of performing at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Scotland and the Basel Tattoo in Switzerland. She's a frequent traveller who has explored numerous countries through school and dance and plans to continue these global adventures. Ashley has a BSc in psychology from the U of A and is now in her second year of an MA in ancient societies and cultures. Next on her academic journey is to pursue her PhD. Ashley’s favourite campus spots include Old Arts and Convocation Hall, where she enjoys studying and reminiscing about her undergrad convocation.
Teren (he/him) is a second-year student studying conservation biology in the Faculty of Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences (ALES). Originally from Treaty 6 Territory, Sherwood Park, Teren can often be found all around campus, working on course work or writing.
When not studying, Teren is an emerging voice in Edmonton's literary scene. He's an avid writer, frequently attends open mic nights, and recently won the 2025 CLC Poetry Contest. Look for him to be the featured writer at the Olive Reading Series in March 2026. Teren is currently shaping his poetry collection into a manuscript, with the goal of becoming a published author.
Harmony (she/her) is a second-year student in the bilingual bachelor of science in nursing program via the Faculty of Nursing and Campus Saint-Jean. Raised across Alberta, she maintains a strong connection to her Cameroonian roots through folklore music and art, which inspires her deeply.
Harmony’s creative, ambitious and music-oriented, balancing her studies with an array of artistic pursuits. Most of her time outside of studying includes writing, sewing, watching (a lot) of movies, painting and drawing, (too much) sleeping and counting down the days for music album releases!
When hitting the books, she can often be found at her favourite study spot in the library, near a tall window. Harmony plans to make the most of her university years by balancing academics and enjoyment.
Her future aspiration? To bring her vision board to life, which notably includes owning a magnificent penthouse and an extensive shoe collection!
Harmony (elle) est une étudiante de première année au baccalauréat bilingue en sciences infirmières, programme offert par la Faculty of Nursing et le Campus Saint-Jean. Née au Cameroun et ayant grandi en Alberta, elle garde un lien étroit avec ses racines grâce à la musique folklorique camerounaise, qui l'inspire profondément.
Créative, ambitieuse et passionnée de musique, Harmony concilie ses études avec diverses activités artistiques. Elle consacre la majeure partie de son temps libre à l'écriture, à la musique, au cinéma (beaucoup !), à la peinture, au dessin, au sommeil (beaucoup aussi!) et attend avec impatience la sortie de nouveaux albums.
Lorsqu'elle se plonge dans ses manuels, on peut souvent la trouver à son endroit préféré dans la bibliothèque, près d'une grande fenêtre. Harmony a l'intention de profiter pleinement de ses années universitaires en trouvant le juste équilibre entre les études et le plaisir.
Son ambition pour l'avenir? Donner vie à son « tableau de visualisation » (vision board), qui comprend notamment l'achat d'un magnifique appartement-terrasse et une vaste collection de chaussures !
Marlena (she/her) Since completing her bachelor of arts at the U of A, Marlena is currently pursuing the after-degree education program. Originally from Vancouver, she's traded the coast for the prairies and now calls Edmonton home. When she’s not hitting the books, Marlena stays busy with volunteering, work and exploring the city’s food scene. To recharge, she enjoys reading, listening to music and watching movies. She's always up for discovering a new spot around the city, trying something new or finding the perfect place to grab her next coffee.
Mel (she/her) is an adventurous third-year PhD candidate in political science. She loves practicing yoga, biking, spending time in nature and running. Mel's an avid fantasy and science fiction reader and loves supporting local theatre productions. She enjoys electronic music and going to raves to dance the night away. Mel volunteers with the Orchid Species Preservation Foundation and is the president of the Political Sciences Graduate Students’ Association. She loves trying new restaurants, exploring Edmonton’s festivals, enjoying the beautiful river valley and finding ways to add whimsy to her life.
Gurleen (she/her) is a Canadian student who enjoys our city’s vibrant community. Gurleen brings energy and enthusiasm to everything she does and loves playing volleyball and badminton. Gurleen is in her fourth year of psychology and is a passionate mental health advocate. Her goal is to help cultivate resilient communities for those students who remain courageous during times of struggle. You’ll often find Gurleen out in nature or browsing various cozy spots near cafés on and off campus.
Prabhnoor Singh (he/him) is a third-year Honors finance student in the Alberta School of Business who has a habit of keeping his plate a little too full and, admittedly, likes it that way. Always curious and rarely one to turn down a new experience, he loves meeting new people, hearing their stories and finding himself in places or situations he probably wouldn’t have expected a few months earlier.
Outside the classroom, Prabhnoor's usually bouncing between coffee shops, taking photos of moments that catch his eye, listening to music or podcasts, swimming, playing chess, soaking up whatever sunshine Edmonton decides to offer or convincing himself that the Cameron Library basement is actually a pleasant place to spend an unreasonable number of hours.
He’s a bit of a stickler for making the most out of life and believes there’s always something new to learn, somewhere new to go or someone interesting to meet. His travel list is already considerably longer than his available vacation time, and he wouldn’t really have it any other way.
