How do I update my address and contact information with the Faculty of Engineering?
There are several easy ways to do this – through our online form; via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org; or by phoning the Engineering Office of Advancement at (780) 248-1673. We use the University of Alberta’s alumni database, so if you have already changed your contact information through the Office of Alumni Relations, we will receive your update and there is no need to contact our office as well. Likewise, if you change your contact information through us, those changes will be made in the U of A alumni database. Please note that due to the amount of time it takes for a mailing to be produced, you may still continue to receive mail at your old address for up to a few more weeks after you contact us.
How do I find out about Faculty of Engineering alumni events?
Our web page – www.engineering.ualberta.ca/alumni-- will list all of our upcoming events that are planned at this time. From time to time, you may also receive printed invitations to events in your area if you keep your address current with us and do not have any mail restriction requests on your U of A alumni record. If you are not receiving invitations from us and you live in the cities or surrounding areas of Edmonton, Calgary, Fort McMurray, Vancouver, Victoria, Toronto, or Ottawa (where we regularly hold events), then contact us at (780) 248-1673 or email@example.com to ensure we have your correct address and mail preferences on your alumni record.
I’d like to get in touch with a former classmate or professor. Can you give me their contact information?
Privacy laws do not permit us to share contact information for alumni or former faculty members, but we would be happy to pass a message along to that person on your behalf if we have current contact information for them. Contact us at (780) 248-1673 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org with your request.
I lost/damaged my iron ring. How do I get it replaced?
Iron ring registration is administered by the Corporation of the Seven Wardens, which is independent of any university or provincial engineering licensing body (such as APEGA). If you went through your obligation ceremony in Edmonton (Camp 6), contact Susan Ancel at email@example.com. If you went through your obligation ceremony in another city, please go to www.ironring.ca/contact.html for a list of camps and contacts.
How do I get my family of Faculty of Engineering alumni on your Engineering Generations wall? Is there a cost?
The Engineering Generations wall proudly displays names of those graduates who also happen to be related through birth or marriage. This is a free service that the Faculty of Engineering provides to our alumni to support and display their pride in our faculty. To have your family added, contact us at (780) 248-1673 or firstname.lastname@example.org and be ready to provide names, graduation dates (approximate dates will work as we can look them up), and disciplines. We will prepare and send you a draft tree which you and the other family members will be need to approve. Once approvals have been received, we will add the family tree to the Generations Wall during the next update.
We have a new U of A Engineer in the family who recently graduated. How can we have them added to our existing tree on the Engineering Generations wall?
Contact us at (780) 248-1673 or email@example.com with the name and discipline of the new graduate, and we will add them to your existing family tree during our next scheduled update.

I would like to receive some types of mail from the Faculty of Engineering and the University of Alberta, but not other types. Can I do this?
Definitely! We are happy to ensure that our communication with you meets your wishes. Some of the types of mail you can choose to receive – or not receive – are invitations to events in your area; your alumni magazine and annual wall calendar; and fundraising requests. We have found in the past that sometimes alumni will contact us to say, “Take me off your mailing list!” when they really only want to be removed from certain types of mailings. Please contact us at (780) 248-1673 or firstname.lastname@example.org and we will ensure that your record is updated to reflect your wishes.
