The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) offers undergraduate programs in electrical engineering, computer engineering, and engineering physics. Each degree provides students with a well-rounded education and has various options to choose from, all of which are accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board. This ensures that students receive the knowledge and training necessary to apply for certification as Professional Engineers (PEng).

Students are admitted to ECE programs after completing a common first year of engineering. The second and third years of study consist of core courses in engineering and related fields. The final year of the program is primarily made up of technical electives relevant to the program or option that students have enrolled in. Some students may also wish to participate in Industrial Cooperative Education (Co-op). This extends the degree program to five years and incorporates five paid, supervised work-experience terms.

ECE undergraduate programs are challenging and admission is competitive: every year the department accepts approximately 225 students. Detailed admission requirements can be found here.
