Design of High Capacity Hydrotalcite for CO2 Capture

Direct Applicability to Industry:

Coal-fired power plants are responsible for more than 40% of CO2 emissions in Canada. A viable method of capturing CO2 is necessary in the face of climate change, increasing environmental regulations and societal concerns.

Nature of Problem:

There is a need for new techniques and adsorption materials for the efficient and improved capacity for CO2 capture.

Financial and Environmental Impact:

Until an alternative to fossil fuels is developed more fully, reducing the negative impact of CO2 emissions is environmentally desirable.
