NSERC Industrial Research Chair in the Industrialization of Building Construction

Mahmud Abushwereb

Background

Mahmud began his engineering studies in Jordan and worked with a company that designs post-tension bridges. He is now pursuing an MSc in Building Science, Civil Engineering at the University of Alberta.

Research Interests

Using building information modelling (BIM) technology to improve the productivity of design and drafting for manufacturing.

Current research

Mahmud is currently working with an industry partner on improving the productivity of design and drafting for the manufacturing of light wood frame buildings in the off-site construction industry. He is using an application, called FrameX, that was developed by the IRC research group.

Education

  • Bachelor of Engineering, Civil Engineering, Middle East University (2015), Amman, Jordan
