Founder of the Centre for Smart Transportation is Winner of the Young ITS Canada Leadership Award

    Dr. Tony Z. Qiu is honoured for his collaborative work at the 10th Annual ITS Canada Awards

    Dr. Tony Z. Qiu has been named Winner of the Young ITS Canada Leadership Award in the 2019 ITS Canada Awards, honoring his contribution to the advancement of Intelligent Transportation Systems. This award highlights his ability to bring together innovative work on intelligent transportation with the ITS industry and professional community.

    The ITS Canada Awards is the premier awards program in the country recognizing innovation and leadership within the intelligent transportation community. The Young ITS Canada Leadership Award acknowledges Dr. Qiu’s established connections with national and international organizations – government, industry and academic institutions – through key collaborative projects and his commitment to addressing current and relevant issues affecting safety, mobility, and security in intelligent transportation.

    ITS Canada presented this year’s awards to winners on September 24 at the 2019 TAC-ITS Canada Joint Conference & Exhibition, the largest gathering of Canada’s community of transportation professionals, which took place in Halifax, Nova Scotia during a special lunch in the Ballroom at the Halifax Convention Centre.
