Consortium for Engineered Trenchless Technologies (CETT)

History

CETT was established at the University of Alberta in 2012 as a joint venture that integrated public- and private-sector expertise with academic knowledge in service of advancing the field of trenchless construction. The unique combination of cold climate, extensive municipal drainage projects and abundant oil and gas activity made Edmonton, Alberta, an ideal location for CETT’s headquarters.

The organization’s mandate has since expanded to include the telecommunications industry and trenchless project design. In 2016, CETT welcomed Dr. Alireza Bayat as the Industrial Research Chair in Underground Trenchless Construction.
