Through your classes and extracurricular activities such as first-year nights hosted by the Faculty of Engineering departments, you'll learn about the diversity of the engineering profession and you'll begin to form opinions about which area you'd like to specialize in.
It's important to explore all the possibilities in depth. Even if you begin your first year of engineering with a particular discipline in mind, you may discover during your first year that there are areas of engineering that you weren't aware of – and you may develop a strong interest in a field that surprises you. Be sure to take the time to investigate each department's offerings. Speak with current students and professors to find the program best meets your interests.
