GPAs used at the University of Alberta are calculated to one decimal place. This table contains the minimum GPA required for admission into the various discipline specific second year programs. The second year admissions process uses a Program Admission Factor which is the GPA calculated to two decimal places and in certain cases applies adjustments to this GPA as explained below in arriving at a student's admission average.

If any student carries less than a full course load (10 academic courses) in the previous Fall/Winter, the two decimal place admission GPA is adjusted accordingly when calculating the admission average.
