Work Term Reports

WkExp 901-904 Reports

Reports are due one month prior to the official end of the work term (i.e., end of November / March / July). All reports will be graded by the end of the term (i.e., end of December / April / August). Students without a satisfactory report at that time will be given a grade of FAIL.

Students may be granted an extension on the deadline for submission through a request to the Co-op Office, prior to the original deadline, outlining the reasons for such a request. Students having been granted such a request will receive a grade of INCOMPLETE until such time as a satisfactory report is received. At that time the grade will be changed to CREDIT if all other criteria have been satisfied. If a satisfactory report is not received by the agreed upon extended deadline, the grade will be changed to FAIL.

A student who has a grade of FAIL due to not submitting a work term report will be transferred out of the Co-op Program or required to withdraw from the Faculty of Engineering (see Faculty of Engineering Regulations).

WkExp 905 Technical Report and 905 Report Evaluation Form

Technical reports that are to be graded by Faculty are due in the Co-op Office by the end of the first week of classes following the work term. All reports will be graded within one month of that date.

If a technical report is deemed proprietary by the company and is to be graded by an employer, the student is obliged to inform the Co-op Office of this in writing prior to the end of the work term. Upon such notification, the Co-op Office will forward to the employer a technical report grading form, guidelines for grading, and request a confirming statement regarding the proprietary nature of the report. The employer will be asked to return the grading sheet/statement within 15 days of the end of the work term.
