WRITE 392 B1: Intermediate Poetry

M. Dumont

As an intermediate poetry writing course, the focus will be on producing a series of connected poems or longer works rather than individual occasional poems with a good portion of class times respectfully critiquing each other’s work.   You will have time to write substantively, and to receive both written and verbal feedback on your crafted poems.  As this is an intermediate class, you will be expected to read widely within the field of contemporary poetry (including local, national, and international work). You will be required to give a book talk from a list of poetry titles and attend and critique a reading by a local or visiting poet.
