I'm an eLearning Developer!
I joined Environment, Health & Safety back in September 2016.
I completed a Bachelor's degree in Sports English in China, then a Master's degree in Education Technology at Concordia University in Montreal.
Before I joined EHS, I spent several years as an instructional designer for both the public and private sectors.
eLearning is a cost effective method that enables learners to take courses according to their own schedule and at their own pace. It's cool!
Who is...Sarah Figini?
I’m an eLearning developer -- this means I get to design and build online courses for EHS and others seeking eLearning solutions.
Before e-Learning, what did you do?
I spent a year working in an art store and teaching a few art classes on the weekends.
Before I moved to Canada, I was on placement teaching art and design in a special needs high school while I completed my masters in adult education…and before all of that I spent about 2 years teaching English and Visual Arts in an international High School in Shanghai, PRC.
What's the future of eLearning?
I am particularly excited about the impact of VR (Virtual Reality) on eLearning: we'll be able to run simulations (like incidents and emergencies) and teach participants how to respond.
What else makes you you?
When I’m not at work I like to paint traditionally and take long walks in the river valley. I also love camping, particularly to Wizard Lake or Brazeau Reservoir.
