Gordon Walsh has been working in health and safety for over 14 years. Gordon is currently employed with Energy Safety Canada (ESC) formally ENFORM, as Senior Manager Training. Over his eight plus years with the organization Gordon has worked in multiple roles and departments. Previous to ESC/Enform, Gordon worked for two other industry safety associations in manufacturing and trucking. Prior to working in safety Gordon was employed in various industries including excavation, general construction, and underground mining.
Gordon completed his OHS certificate with the University of Alberta and has been qualified as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) since 2007. Gordon recently completed the Business Essentials Program through the University of Calgary Haskayne School of Business. Gordon is a member and supported of the new Alberta Society of Health and Safety Professionals (ASHSP).
Gordon has been an instructor of safety courses and a presenter at multiple conferences over the last decade covering topics relevant to frontline workers as well as manager level content.
Evelyn Hamdon is the acting director in the Office of Safe Disclosure and Human Rights. Prior to coming to the U of A, Evelyn worked for over 14 years as an educational and strategic consultant with a focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion. She recently completed her Ph.D. in Educational Policy Studies with a specialization in Social Justice and International Studies in Education. Evelyn has published in the area of race, racialization, and gender and is the author of Islamophobia and the question of Muslim identity.
