This is a professional workshop about life after school, conducted by Prof. Uchechukwu Umezurike, assistant professor in the Department of English, University of Calgary, Canada. This workshop is offered by the Black Graduate Students' Association at the University of Alberta.

About the Workshop Leader

Uchechukwu Peter Umezurike is an assistant professor in the Department of English, University of Calgary, Canada. His teaching and research interests include African and African Diaspora literatures, postcolonial literatures, gender and sexuality, cultural studies, and creative writing. He has published his critical writing in Metacritic Journal for Comparative Studies and Theory, Men and Masculinities, NORMA: Nordic Journal of Masculinity Studies, Journal of African Cultural Studies, Tydskrif vir Letterkunde, Postcolonial Text, and Cultural Studies. Umezurike is the author of creative works such as Double Wahala, Double Trouble (2021), Wish Maker (2021), and there’s more, a poetry collection forthcoming from the University of Alberta Press in March 2023.
