Jane Halford // FCA, ICD.D
Jane is a proven corporate director, chartered accountant, regulator, and entrepreneur, with a passion for leadership development. In 2013, Jane stepped out her role as CEO of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta to focus on helping organizations and leaders achieve their goals. In her business, Halford Consulting, Jane supports boards and CEOs accelerate the performance and improve the success of their incoming leader. She also speaks and teaches on governance, leadership, and executive transitions. Jane is an active board member of the Farm Credit Canada (HR Committee Chair), Alberta Innovates, United Way (Past Chair), Delta Genomics Centre, and the Institute of Corporate Directors Edmonton Chapter (Past Chair).
Marvin Washington // PhD
Marvin is the Associate Dean of Executive Education and Professor for the Alberta School of Business. His instructional, research and consulting focus is on processes of organizational and institutional change and is the author of two books on leadership and organizational change. He is the Academic Director for Directors Education Program in Edmonton and has taught and consulted with the leadership teams of numerous non-profit and for-profit organizations.
Tyler Waye // MAL
Tyler is an author and leadership strategist who has spent the last decade investigating the emerging patterns of success that shape our lives and organizations. He is President of IN.FORM, where he works to drive leadership inspired change across numerous platforms, and is co-founder of YoungLeaders.World, a multinational youth leadership organization that works directly with thousands across the globe. Tyler’s attention is increasingly focused on shifts that are redefining modern work and redesigning success principles needed for tomorrow.
Emily Block // PhD, BBA
Emily is a professor of strategy, management & organization at the Alberta School of Business. After 20 years in industry and academia in the USA, she brings her expertise in communications, negotiations and decision-making to the University of Alberta. She applies her experiential teaching style in numerous graduate and Executive Education courses at the School of Business.
Mike is the owner of the Pacific Center for Leadership has been an active facilitator for over 25 years. As a member of the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG) and Association of Challenge Course Technology (ACCT), Mike has designed and constructed a number of challenge course facilities and delivered experiential learning activities across Western Canada.
Darren Rawson // ICD.D
Darren is President of Draw Consulting, an advisory services firm helping private companies enhance enterprise value through governance, strategy and growth. He is also a Principal at Ozone Advisory Group which pursues high-performance, private company governance. Darren is a proven executive with 17 years experience as CEO of mid-sized companies. He has worked in publicly traded, family-owned and private equity backed enterprises across a variety of industries. Darren has been doing business internationally for over 22 years and is an active Corporate Director and Chair sitting on numerous private and non-profit boards.
Dave has a Master's degree in Recreation Management and is an accredited Master Interpretive Guide with the Interpretive Guides Association. For the past 10 years, Dave has added his interpretation and process facilitation skill to the Pacific Center for Leadership. Dave’s professional experience in the outdoors and leadership has provided the opportunity to work in government, private and non-profit communities. Dave believes nature is a powerful teacher and has a talent for facilitating experiences that help leaders gain insights into how we relate to each other, learn from the natural world and lead in today’s challenging world.
