Marie Robidoux

Marie has had a varied career starting in law in Montreal and then becoming a professional land surveyor working with Natural Resources Canada in Edmonton, Yellowknife and Regina, and private geomatics firms in Calgary.

Since 2010 she has been in her current role with Osum Oil Sands where she is a master of the road to northern Alberta visiting numerous Aboriginal communities. Marie is also the Chair of the Board of Examiners for Professional Surveyors and the Chair of the Aboriginal Liaison Committee for the Association of Canada Lands Surveyors. Although born in Quebec, the west has been her home since 1982.

Steve Jani

Respected resident and Metis of the Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo Region. Currently the CEO of Christina River Enterprises, business arm of Fort McMurray #468 First Nation. With many years of experience in the region and Oil Sands Industry, he provides a wealth of knowledge from an Industry perspective, contractor and an Aboriginal.

Having worked in Gas Field operations, Oil Sands for Syncrude and as an executive for a contractor business, he brings a diverse experience that can help build business, relationships and communication

Tim Heins

Vice President – Manager of Community Engagement, Royal Camp Services Ltd. Tim Heins is of non-aboriginal heritage, born and raised in Central Canada with the majority of his adult years spent in the Northwest Territories from 1985 to 2004. In late 2004, Tim moved to Edmonton and joined Flint Energy Services Ltd (now AEComm) as the Manager of Aboriginal Community Engagement.

Tim has been a member of CFAR since 2008 and is in his third year of service on the Board of Directors, first as a member at large and currently in the role of Vice-President. Tim is a member of the Governance Committee. Tim’s brings a wealth of business and community experience from his service as General Manager in the Co-operative system in the NWT; Economic Development Officer for the GNWT; Executive Director of The Deline Land Corporation in Deline, NT; Finance Manager for North-Wright Airways Ltd. and now, in his role as Manager of Aboriginal Community Engagement for a major subcontractor corporation in the oil & gas industry in Western Canada and the north.

Tim has served as a Justice of the Peace in the NWT from 1988 to 1992. Tim has also represented URS Flint at the Alberta Chamber of Resources as a member of the Aboriginal Programs Project.

Dr. Fay Fletcher

Over the past several years, Dr. Fletcher has worked with colleagues from First Nations communities and Metis Settlements in the development and delivery of local and international adult continuing education programs as well as Aboriginal youth life skills programs.  

She is an Associate Professor with the Faculty of Extension, University of Alberta and Academic Lead on adult continuing education programs including Aboriginal Health Promotion, Indigenous Community Engagement, and Aboriginal Community-Industry Relations.

Sandra Cardinal

Sandra has been employed as the Director, Aboriginal Affairs, at Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. in Boyle, Alberta since August 1996. Sandra leads Alberta-Pacific’s Aboriginal relations programs. She provides advice and guidance to senior managers, and acts as a representative of the company in consulting with communities, government, and industry.
