Series Overview

Conflict resolution is one of the most sought-after soft skills in the job market. Learn strategies and techniques to help manage and resolve conflicts in the workplace or other interpersonal interactions.

Developed in collaboration with the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Learning Institute, this series covers topics like communicating through conflict, learning to become comfortable with conflict, and leveraging conflict to produce positive outcomes.

Series Structure

Complete all 4 to earn a Faculty of Extension Notice of Completion and an ADR Learning Institute Certificate.

Audience

This series is meant for anyone interested in furthering their skills in conflict resolution. Conflict resolution techniques can be used in the workplace, as well as with friends and family.

Program Plan

This series is comprised of 2 two-day workshops and 2 one-day workshops, each of them designed to stand alone in providing specific conflict resolution skills. Workshops can also be taken together to provide students with a comprehensive conflict resolution skill set. It is recommended that the courses are completed in this order: EXCPE  5350, EXCPE 5351, EXCPE 5352, and EXCPE 5353.

Once all four workshops have been successfully completed, students can request an official Conflict Resolution series Notice of Completion from the Faculty of Extension and a certificate from the ADR Learning Institute.

 

Qualifications & Admission

There are no entrance requirements to take the workshops in this series, however EXCPE 5350, 5351 and 5352 must be taken before you can enrol in the final course, EXCPE 5353. Complete all four courses to receive your credentials or take workshops individually.

Tuition & Fees

  • Tuition is paid on a course-by-course basis as you register for each workshop.
  • Materials are included in course fee.
  • This program is eligible for the Canada-Alberta Job Grant.
