Alberta Development Officers Association (ADOA) Award
The Alberta Development Officers Association, and organization of Development Officers from urban and rural municipalities and members if the private sector, is proud to support the Applied Land Use Planning program. ADOA will present an award for excellence in academic achievement to the student with the highest overall grade point average (GPA) who has completed the ALUP certificate program. The award of a one-year membership with ADOA will promote and enhance the professional practice of the graduating student in the planning profession and community.
Health and Safety
CCOHS Dick Martin Scholarship Award
The CCOHS Council of Governors established the Dick Martin Scholarship Award in 2002 in the memory of Dick Martin, a tireless health and safety advocate and a pioneer of workplace health and safety in Canada. Awarded annually, this $3,000 national scholarship is available to any student enrolled, either full-time or part-time, in an occupational health and safety related course or program leading to an occupational health and safety certificate, diploma or degree at an accredited college or university in Canada.
Gary Wagar Scholarship
The University of Alberta and the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA) have established a scholarship program in honour of former ACSA Executive Director Gary Wagar. The goal of this partnership is to encourage and support students who wish to further their careers in the health and safety profession. Two Gary Wagar Scholarships of $1000 are presented to individuals who have attained the National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) or Health & Safety Administrator (HSA) designation through the ACSA, and allow recipients to continue their professional development in the Occupational Health & Safety Certificate program at the U of A. The winners also receive a complimentary registration to the ACSA’s annual conference.
Health and Safety Conference Society of Alberta (HSCSA)
The Health and Safety Conference Society of Alberta provides a cash award of up to $500 to a student graduating with the highest grade point average. No application is required.
Canadian Society of Safety Engineers OHSE Student Writing Awards Program
Granted by the Canadian Society of Safety Engineers (CSSE) the Student Writing Awards Program supports excellence in student writing by Canadian students registered in a one, two, or three year OHSE program (full-time or part-time) at an accredited college or university in Canada.
Canadian Society of Safety Engineers OHSE Bursary Program
As part of their ongoing objective to support people who have chosen to pursue a career in Occupational Health and Safety, the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering OHSE offers bursaries up to a maximum of $500.00 in support of students who have successfully registered in a 1, 2 or 3 year OHSE program (full-time or part-time) at the undergraduate level at an accredited university or college in Canada.
Canada Alberta Job Grant
The Canada-Alberta Job Grant is a training program where an employer applies on behalf of their employee(s) for eligible training costs. Employers decide who gets training and what type of training may be needed for their employees.

Windmill Microlending is a registered charity serving newcomers since 2005. They offer microloans to help skilled immigrants and refugees continue their careers in Canada. Windmill is Canada’s largest and most successful microlending program for immigrants and refugees.
