Research at the Faculty of Extension is driven by the mandate of "uplifting the whole people to inspire the human spirit for the public good." As a faculty of interdisciplinary scholars, our research strengths are broad, encompassing early childhood education, communication and technology, urban planning and sustainable development, language, and globalization, to name a few. The common thread that connects our work is the study and practice of community engagement and community capacity building through research, and our commitment to social justice.
As world leaders in community engagement, we seek to serve as a resource and partner to communities, policy makers, and researchers across Canada and globally. We are driven by a fierce commitment to be responsive to community needs, in our own research, and in our support of others' research.
