Bridging Program 101 (BP101)
Bridging Program 101 introduces students to important concepts and practices related to successful study at the University of Alberta. Some topics covered include language proficiency expectations, expectations within the Canadian university classroom, and practical issues to do with your future studies. This course is taken concurrently with EAP 140, and provides eighteen hours of instruction. Completion of Bridging Program 101 is a requirement for completion of the Bridging Program.
Introduction to Literature (Intro to Lit)
This course introduces students to important approaches to the reading, writing and analysis of literary texts. Short readings are used to develop important concepts and vocabulary. Six credits of study in the first-year programs of the Literature and Film Studies department or Writing Studies are a required component of most undergraduate degree programs at the University of Alberta. Introduction to Literature provides essential preparation for the successful completion of these credits. This course is taken concurrently with EAP 145, and provides eighteen hours of preparatory instruction.
Stage 3: BP Sections
Students who successfully complete Stage 2 of the Bridging Program will be eligible to enroll into BP3 sections of selected courses. These sections are similar to other sections of the same course but with added benefits.
