Awards & Accolades

Alberta Respiratory Centre (ARC) is pleased to announce funding for Travel Awards, which are designed to further the careers of trainee members of the Alberta Respiratory Centre. We have also outlined awards and accolades to our ARC Members from 2013-2019 below.

2019 Awards:

Dr. Paige Lacy Recipient of the 2019 Michelle Harkness Mentorship Award for Investigators, AllerGen NCE

Dr. Paige Lacy's research projects cover a spectrum ranging from cell biology to clinical cohort studies to understand the origins and mechanisms of asthma, COPD, and other lung diseases. Her NSERC-funded project investigates protein trafficking in immune cells associated with airway diseases, and she collaborates with Dr. Lyle Melenka, Synergy Respiratory and Cardiac Care, to determine risks of occupational exposure to workplace and environmental hazards. She also works with Dr. Parameswaran Nair in McMaster University and his postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Manali Mukherjee, to understand autoimmune mechanisms that occur in severe asthma. Together with her trainees and collaborators, she works to advance our understanding of lung diseases and their mechanisms to help in diagnosis, management, and treatment of these disorders.
