  • Biography

    Stanley Varnhagen has a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is a member of the Community University Partnership for the Study of Children, Youth, and Family (CUP) and is a Faculty Service Officer (FSO) in the Faculty of Extension. Stanley’s specialty is in evaluation. His professional interests include program evaluation, utilization-focused and participatory, community-based evaluation, use of innovative methods to facilitate learning, applied research methods, and research ethics. His evaluation-related specialties include planning, developing capacity (capacity building), instructing, providing support, facilitating, analyzing, and effectively disseminating findings. He also regularly teaches an online graduate course on evaluation. He also is currently a Chair of a University of Alberta’s Research Ethics Boards (REB 2), which reviews research that includes privacy, confidentiality, survey research, and intervention research.
