The World Health Organization (WHO) defines mental health as a state of well-being in which every individual realizes their own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to their community.

Mental health affects how we think, feel and act which ultimately plays a large role in our ability to handle to manage stress, our relationships, our attitudes and our choices. Therefore, being aware of the programs and resources to support positive mental health and recognizing the signs of symptoms of mental illness is essential.
