A Message from the Undergraduate Program Director:

Welcome to the Undergraduate Family Medicine Program in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Alberta. Family medicine is the foundation of our health care system, and we are excited to have you be a part of a program that provides breadth and diversity in family medicine learning experiences throughout Northern Alberta. We are proud of our skilled and enthusiastic family physicians who teach throughout the MD Program in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry as small-group facilitators, lecturers, course coordinators, and clinic preceptors.

The Undergraduate Family Medicine Program strives to provide educational experiences that demonstrate the variety and scope of what a career in medicine can be. Our curriculum is grounded in the CanMEDS-FMU educational framework which integrates the Four Principles of Family Medicine.

Thank you for exploring our program. We hope you will enjoy the teaching and learning opportunities we have to offer.

Dr. Ann Lee
