What is your role at GSSMC?
Consulting Physiatrist

Do you hold any positions outside the clinic?
I am a clinical lecturer in the Department of Medicine, Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the U of A. I also work at HealthPointe Medical Center, a multidisciplinary musculoskeletal clinic.

What is your clinical specialty?
My clinical specialties include sport medicine, spine care, chronic pain, interventional procedures and nerve testing (EMG).

What did you study and where?
I received my MD from the University of Alberta in 2013. I then went on to specialty training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Physiatry) at the University of Alberta. Throughout my specialty training, I gained added competency in nerve testing (EMG) and sport medicine by obtaining my CSCN and CASEM credentials.

Do you have any specific research interests and publications?
In terms of academics, I am actively involved in teaching residents and medical students. I am also involved in sport medicine research in the areas of concussion and injury prevention.

Do you have specific days/hours?
Friday afternoons.

What is your favorite way to stay active?
I enjoy making regular trips to the mountains for hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, XC skiing, etc. I also enjoy playing hockey.
