Dr. Jeff Robinson

What is your role at the GSSMC?

I am one of the primary care sport medicine physicians.

Do you hold any positions outside the clinic?

I am a family physician who has practiced in Edmonton since 1983. My community practice includes family medicine at the Misericordia Hospital and I am a member of the Edmonton West Primary Care Network. I also do sport and exercise medicine in my family practice.

In the past, I have served as the president of the Canadian Academy of Sport Medicine, executive director for the Alberta Chapter of the College of Family Physicians of Canada, and I held administrative positions with Caritas Health and Covenant Health.

What is your clinical speciality?

Family practice, and sport and exercise medicine.


What did you study and where?

I am a graduate of Medicine of the University of Calgary and Family Medicine at the University of Alberta.

Do you work specific days/hours?

Monday and Wednesday afternoons, and occasional Friday mornings.

Are you affiliated with any teams?

I have worked with the Edmonton Capitals Baseball Club and several of Canada's national sport teams. I have been a member of the medical staff for Canada at the Olympics, World University and Pan American Games.

What is your favourite way to stay active?

Cycling, running and cross country skiing.
