Presented by: Dr. Elli Dehnavi PhD Modern Languages and Cultural Studies
Wednesday, June 20, 2018
4:30 – 6:30 pm
Telus Centre 131-133
June 20 is the day the world commemorates the strength, courage, and perseverance of millions of refugees. Held every year, World Refugee Day also marks a key moment for the public to show support for families forced to flee.
In recognition of World Refugee Day, Global Education is hosting the Centre for Race and Culture's workshop, Refugee Awareness Alberta.
This two-hour session provides accurate and comprehensive information about refugees to host communities. This workshop will support individuals and organizations to understand the pre-migration experiences of refugees and provide ideas for creating welcoming and inclusive environments that ensure sustainable and successful resettlement of refugees in Alberta.
