Opportunity to Serve: One (1) Graduate Student

The GSA Nominating Committee (GSA NoC) invites nominations from graduate students to serve on the GSA Award Selection Committee (GSA ASC). One (1) position is available.

If you are interested in putting your name forward to serve on this committee, please fill out the bio and resume form attached and email it to gsa.nomcomm@ualberta.ca by Wednesday, 13 November 2019 at 12:00 PM (Noon).

Nominations received will be circulated as submitted via email to GSA Council.

Mandate of the GSA ASC

The GSA ASC selects the recipients of the GSA Recognition Awards. The GSA ASC also reviews GSA Bylaw and Policy regarding the adjudication of the GSA Recognition Awards. Meetings

In addition to adjudication, there are 3-4 meetings per year around the time of the adjudication process in January. Adjudication takes on average three (3) hours.

Eligibility

All members of the GSA are eligible to serve on GSA ASC unless they intend to apply for any GSA Recognition Awards (GSA Bylaw and Policy, Section O: GSA Recognition Awards, GSA Policy, GSA Standing Committees, GSA Awards Selection Committee, Section O.POL.4).

Composition

The GSA ASC is composed of the GSA Vice-President External (Chair), the GSA Vice-President Labour, and up to twelve (12) graduate students elected by GSA Council (GSA Bylaw and Policy, Section O: GSA Recognition Awards, GSA Policy, GSA Standing Committees, GSA Awards Selection Committee, Section O.POL.3).

There will be a paper ballot vote at the 18 November 2019 GSA Council meeting.
