GSA Budget and Finance Committee

Opportunity to Serve: One (1) Graduate Student

The GSA Nominating Committee (GSA NoC) invites nominations from graduate students to serve on the GSA Budget and Finance Committee (GSA BFC). One (1) position is available.

Nominations received will be circulated as submitted via email to GSA Council.

Purpose and Mandate of the GSA BFC:

As per GSA Bylaw and Policy, the GSA BFC will "advise on the financial affairs of the GSA […] and on the provision of the long-term financial health of the organization" (Section K: Finances, GSA Policy, GSA Standing Committees, GSA Budget and Finance Committee, Section K.POL.5.1).

The GSA BFC fulfills an advisory role regarding the GSA budget and business plan, and will receive information and advice from the GSA Auditor (Section K: Finances, GSA Policy, GSA Standing Committees, GSA Budget and Finance Committee, Sections K.POL.5.2 and K.POL.5.4).



Meetings

The GSA BFC meets approximately four to six times a year. The next meeting of this committee is expected to take place from 10am to 12pm on 7 October 2019.



Composition:

The GSA BFC is composed of the GSA President as Chair, Vice-President Labour as Vice-Chair, one (1) GSA Councillor and two (2) graduate student members (GSA Bylaw and Policy, Section K: Finances, GSA Policy, GSA Standing Committees, GSA Budget and Finance Committee, Section K.POL.4).

There will be a paper ballot vote at the 16 September 2019 meeting of GSA Council.
