Opportunity to Serve: One (1) Graduate Student

The GSA Nominating Committee (GSA NoC) invites nominations from graduate students to fill the vacancy for one (1) GSA student representative on the Community Connections Awards Committee. The term of office for this position is one year.

If you are interested in putting your name forward to serve on this committee, please fill out the bio and resume form attached and email it to gsa.nomcomm@ualberta.ca by, Monday, 13 January 2020 at 12:00 PM (Noon).

Nominations received will be circulated as submitted via email to the GSA NoC.

Purpose

"The University of Alberta's Community Connections Awards honour those individuals and groups who have embodied the U of A's promise to "uplift the whole people" by volunteering to share their expertise, time, and energy for the benefit of the public good. Three awards are presented annually to those who support, study and work at the University of Alberta" (UAlberta Community Connections Awards website).



Meetings

Committee members will be required to attend one to two selection meetings (based on the number of nominations submitted) to determine award recipients in late February (between 25-28) 2020, at 5-8 PM. Dinner will be provided.

Members will also be required to attend the awards ceremony in May 2020.

Should insufficient applications be received by the above deadline, the GSA NoC will commence a directed search process to fill remaining vacancies.

If you are not selected for service, we will notify you and we will ask for permission to keep your name and resume/bio on file for other possible committee openings.
