Opportunity to Serve: One (1) Graduate Student

The GSA Nominating Committee (GSA NoC) invites nominations from graduate students to fill the vacancy for one (1) graduate student to serve on the Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (TLEF) Selection Committee.

If you are interested in putting your name forward to serve on this committee, please fill out the bio and resume form attached and email it to gsa.nomcomm@ualberta.ca by, Monday, 13 January 2020 at 12:00 PM (Noon).

Nominations received will be circulated as submitted via email to the GSA NoC.

Mandate

"The Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (TLEF), which was launched in September 2006 with an annual budget of up to $800,000, supports innovative projects that create exceptional learning experiences and environments for students at the University of Alberta. […] The purpose of these awards is to provide instructors with an opportunity to further research and develop innovative methods in teaching and learning and share their findings with the university and broader community." (TLEF Handbook, November 2019)



Meetings

The set dates and times for the meetings of this committee are as follows. Please note that the interested students must be available to attend all of these meetings.

  • Selection Committee Orientation Session
    • Wednesday, 22 January 2020, 10:30 AM- 12 PM.
  • Adjudication Meetings
    • For projects: Wednesday, 19 February 2020, 1 PM-4 PM, and
    • For seed grants: Wednesday, 25 March 2020, 1 PM-4 PM.

Should insufficient applications be received by the above deadline, the GSA Nominating Committee will commence a directed search process to fill remaining vacancies.

If you are not selected for service on this committee we will notify you, and we will ask for permission to keep your name and resume/bio on file for other possible committee openings.
