Janice Causgrove Dunn

Before her appointment as Associate Dean, FGSR, Dr. Causgrove Dunn worked as the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation, University of Alberta as an Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programs).
She has a PhD, Physical Education and Recreation, a MSc, Physical Education and Sport Studies, and a BPE, all from the University of Alberta.
At the University of Alberta, the people (staff, students, faculty), the opportunities, and the underlying sense of responsibility to contribute, are all things that she appreciates about our campus and institution.
Dr. Causgrove Dunn enjoys reading, sports/physical activity (watching and participating), food, and spending time with friends.
Responsibilities as Associate Dean (Graduate Student Wellness, Policy & Governance):
Policy and procedures, and working through student-related issues and specific cases
Mental health and wellness, and the development and oversight of a graduate student mental health strategic plan
Representing FGSR on University committees
My advice to our graduate students:
- Take in the whole experience -- work hard in your courses and on your own research but take opportunities to attend research presentations in other disciplines, participate in extracurricular activities, get to know the people around you.
