The Invest in Your Future Career Symposium, on Nov. 14 and 15, is so jam-packed with career resources for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, we had to make a list. Here are just 5 of the reasons why you can't miss it:

As President of the Council of Graduate Schools (CGS), Dr. Suzanne Ortega, PhD, clearly knows about the graduate student career landscape. With her years of reporting on job skills, you'll learn how your graduate experience prepares you for future employment opportunities.
Curious about entrepreneurship, especially the rising trend in social entrepreneurship? Take your leadership skills to the next level in learning how to benefit your future and others at the same time. Omar Yaqub, MBA, will share how he created the Social Enterprise Fund, Sustainable Works, and MBAs Without Borders (to name a few) to be the change he sees in this world.

End your first conference day with a low-stress networking event to connect with UAlberta Alumni, community leaders, and plenty of tasty hors d'oeuvres. Supported in part by the University of Alberta Alumni Association.

Many of the sessions are designed to help you reflect on what you love to do, who you are, and what that means to you. The underlying theme of the Symposium is "understanding yourself to make the change you need" after all.

- Hillary Hutchinson, MA, MEd, is known as "The Change Strategist" and her two workshops will help you understand your goals and vision for your next chapter. In addition, you'll leave with clear strategies on how to make positive transitions under (and in) any circumstance.
- Tyler Waye, MA, has been traveling the world over exploring what builds great inspiration and great work. Find out the answer to the question "how will I-as a highly educated professional-merge my talents into this shifting landscape?"
