Heather Caltagirone, PhD

Born and raised in Alberta, Dr. Heather Caltagirone holds a Bachelor of Biblical Studies from Canadian Bible College, a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in human resource management from the University of Alberta, and holds both a Masters’ degree and PhD in Human and Organizational Systems from Fielding Graduate University.
Heather has dedicated her career to public service beginning with the Alberta Government in 1997 working in a variety of human resource and organizational development related roles including executive recruitment, leadership development, talent management, succession management and workforce strategy. Heather has worked with the department of Justice and also served with the Policy Coordination Office of Executive Council, in strategic business planning and policy excellence. Heather spent several years focused on leading large scale organizational cultural change to help the Alberta public service reach its full potential. Currently, Dr. Caltagirone holds the position of Assistant Deputy Minister of Curriculum with Alberta Education.
Heather is passionate about supporting women in leadership and helping women succeed in navigating their career journeys. She is also passionate about giving back and has dedicated her time to serve on several volunteer boards including the United Way Edmonton Capital Region Board, Chartered Professionals in Human Resources Alberta Board and the University of Alberta, Faculty of Graduate Studies Advisory Board.
She is a three-time recipient of the Premier’s Award of Excellence and has professional credentials as a Chartered Professional in Human Resources.
