Mohamed El Daly
Mohamed El Daly is the Acting Director of Member Services at the Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). In his role, Mohamed provides guidance to 10 branches across the province and manages a multitude of programs and services to APEGA members and permit holders including a Mentoring program, continuing professional development, outreach, volunteer management and other career services.
Prior to APEGA, Mohamed was the Director of DiscoverE at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Alberta. From 2012 to 2014, Mohamed has led his team to deliver STEM education and programming to more than 75,000 youth in over 70 communities across Alberta and the Northwest Territories.
Mohamed holds a Masters degree in civil engineering from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at the University of Alberta.
Mohamed was one of Edmonton's Top 40 under 40 in 2014 and is the recipient of 2 Google RISE Awards for his contribution to computer science outreach. He is also the recipient of the Human Rights Award from the John Humphrey Centre for Peace & Human Rights for his efforts to promote STEM education of under-represented groups and Aboriginal communities.
