Mary Pat Barry, MA, ABC

Mary Pat is a University of Alberta graduate with a Master of Arts in Communication and Technology. She is also a graduate of Queen’s University where she completed her undergraduate degree and the Queen's Executive Program.
As a business communications professional, Mary Pat has held executive and senior positions most recently as Vice-President, Communications with Alberta Innovates-Technology Futures where she led a communications team supporting AITF's efforts to build globally competitive commerce in Alberta.
Previously Mary Pat was Branch Manager, Corporate Communications at the City of Edmonton for five years and Director, Communications with TELUS Corporation where she led a variety of teams through her 17-year tenure.
Mary Pat is an Accredited Business Communicator through the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), and has been recognized with a number of distinctions and awards at local, national and international levels.
A passionate advocate and active supporter of Chrysalis – an Alberta Society for Citizens with Disabilities (an organization dedicated to enhancing the potential, possibility and reality of people with disabilities), Mary Pat serves as Board Chair of the Chrysalis Foundation.
At the end of her two-year term as President, Mary Pat will assume the role of Past-President 2017/18.
