Tony Valente, P.Eng
Real Estate Development
Anthony Valente was born and raised in Edmonton. He attended the University of Alberta and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduation he worked in several construction related industries including pumping, power generation and oil sands upgrading. Anthony then started and completed his Master’s degree by distance learning from the University of Bath in International Construction Management. His dissertation thesis was ‘Barriers of Adoption of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in Facilities Management’.
Currently, Anthony works for the Edmonton International Airport (EIA) as the Manager, Real Estate Development. Anthony has been with EIA for close to 8 years and led their Engineering and Planning department during the $1B expansion 2012 program and now works on the development of real estate assets which include aviation, industrial and highway commercial developments.
Anthony is a board member of the Leduc Regional Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Canadian BIM Council, a member of BOMA Canada’s BOMA BESt technical subcommittee. He is a member of the University of Alberta’s Quaecumque Vera Honour Society and President’s Society through his contributions to bursary and planned giving. He also volunteers his time with the University of Alberta’s alumni association giving presentations to students interested in Science and Engineering through the DiscoverE program and also presentations through APEGA’s Outreach program and is a mentor through APEGA’s mentorship program.
