Eligibility

  • Satisfactory Academic Standing
  • Earth and Atmospheric Sciences and Biological Sciences
  • Nominees in a master's program are eligible to hold the award in first or second year of the program. Nominees in a doctoral program are eligible to hold the award in the first, second, third, fourth or fifth year of the program
  • Nominee's area of research must be in Environmental Earth Sciences or Ecology
  • Nominee must have a career interest focused on the environment
  • Selected on the basis of satisfactory academic standing
  • The award may not be held concurrently with a major award (defined as an award valued at $13,000 or greater)
  • Open to Canadian citizens.
  • Open to permanent residents.
  • Open to foreign nationals holding Canadian study permits.
  • Open to applicants in doctoral programs.
  • Open to applicants in masters programs.
  • Open to applicants in course-based study programs.
  • Open to applicants in thesis-based study programs.

By nomination only. Students should contact their department for details on their application process. Nominations are submitted to GPS by the Department (or Faculty). The Graduate Scholarship Committee makes the final decision.
