Eligibility

  • Superior Academic Achievement (minimum GPA equivalent to 3.5 on the U of A grading scale)
  • Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta
  • Nominee must be newly admitted in a Master of Science degree program
  • Nominee is interested in practical and applied work in Electrical and Computer Engineering
  • Nominee will be selected on the basis of superior academic achievement (minimum GPA equivalent to 3.5 on the U of A grading scale)
  • This scholarship may not be held in conjunction with another award valued at more than $5,000 (Teaching and Research Assistantships exempted)
  • Recipient may be nominated to hold the scholarship for a second year
  • In nominating a nominee for the scholarship, the department may take financial need into consideration
  • Open to Canadian citizens.
  • Open to permanent residents.
  • Open to foreign nationals holding Canadian study permits.
  • Open to applicants in masters programs.
  • Open to applicants in course-based study programs.
  • Open to applicants in thesis-based study programs.


How to apply

By nomination only. Students should contact their department for details on their application process. Nominations are submitted to GPS by the Department (or Faculty). The Graduate Scholarship Committee makes the final decision.
