Graduate Teaching and Learning Program

Graduate Teaching and Learning Weeks

About the Graduate Teaching and Learning Weeks

The Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research hosts a series of free teaching sessions open to the entire UAlberta campus community twice a year, in January and August/September.

What to expect for Graduate Teaching and Learning Weeks

Sessions include a wide variety of teaching workshops. Whether you are a new teaching assistant looking for teaching basics or a principal instructor deepening your pedagogy, you will find a free workshop for you!

These workshops count towards GTL Program Level 1: GTL Week Workshops: Classroom Basics.

Some sessions may be used towards the Academic Integrity and Ethics Training Requirement and all EXCEPT the information session may be used towards the Graduate Teaching and Learning (GTL) Program and the Professional Development (PD) Requirement.

At the end of the sessions, eligible for ethics or GTL and PD credit, you will be able to sign in online or have an FGSR representative sign your record of PD activities. All ethics and professional development sessions or activities must be approved by your department.
